TPMS sensors
TPMS sensor replacement and programming at your door
When the tyre pressure light stays on even though the tyres are full, the sensor is usually the problem. We replace and program it where the car is parked.

TPMS sensor replacement
The short answer
TPMS sensor replacement with 800 Tyres starts at AED 150 per sensor, including programming to your car. The technician removes the tyre, fits the new sensor inside the wheel, programs it with a TPMS tool and relearns it to the car, so the warning light clears. It is done at home, at work or in a basement car park.
What a TPMS sensor does
A direct tyre pressure monitoring system has a small sensor inside each wheel, usually built into the valve stem. It measures pressure and temperature and sends the reading by radio to the car. When one tyre drops well below its target, a warning light appears on the dashboard, and many cars show the pressure of each tyre on the screen.
Each sensor runs on a sealed battery. When the battery dies, the whole sensor has to be replaced. Some cars, particularly older Volkswagen and Honda models, use an indirect system that reads wheel speed through the ABS instead; those have no sensor to replace and just need the system reset after the pressures are corrected.
Low tyre or faulty sensor: telling the difference
A pressure warning does not always mean the sensor is at fault. Before replacing anything, we always measure the actual pressures with a calibrated gauge. If you want the basics on what the light means, our tyre pressure guide covers it; this page is about the hardware.
| What you see | Most likely cause |
|---|---|
| Solid warning light, one tyre visibly lower | Low pressure or a slow puncture, not the sensor |
| Light comes on after a cool night and goes off later | Pressure is borderline; top up when cold |
| Light flashes for about a minute, then stays on | System fault: a dead, damaged or missing sensor |
| Screen shows dashes for one wheel | That sensor is not transmitting |
| Warning after fitting new wheels or tyres | Sensor not fitted, damaged during fitting, or not relearned |
Why sensors fail in the UAE
- Battery age. Sensor batteries are sealed and are not replaceable on their own. As they age, sensors on cars from the late 2010s are reaching the end of their life.
- Heat. The inside of a wheel in a Dubai summer gets far hotter than the outside air, especially after braking, and electronics age faster at high temperatures.
- Corrosion. Aluminium valve stems can seize or crack, especially if the valve cap has been missing for months.
- Fitting damage. A careless tyre change can snap a sensor if the machine operator does not know where it sits.
How replacement and programming work
- The technician reads every sensor with a TPMS tool to find which one has failed and confirm the car's sensor type and frequency.
- The wheel comes off, the tyre bead is broken on the changer in the van, and the old sensor is removed.
- A new sensor is programmed with the correct protocol for your car, and fitted with a new seal and valve core.
- The tyre is refitted, inflated to the door-placard pressure and balanced.
- The new sensor is relearned to the car using the tool or the car's own relearn procedure, and the warning light is cleared.
The whole job typically takes 30 to 45 minutes for one sensor, and a little longer per extra sensor.
Aftermarket or original sensors
Our starting price of AED 150 is for a quality programmable aftermarket sensor, which is cloned or programmed to match your car and works like the original. Original manufacturer sensors cost more and are available on request for most models; we quote the difference before ordering. For brand-new cars still under warranty, ask your dealer whether they require original parts.
When to replace sensors together
If one sensor has died from battery age, the others were fitted at the same time and will follow. When you are already replacing tyres, it can make sense to replace all four sensors in the same visit, since the tyres are coming off anyway and you avoid a second call-out later. We fit new tyres from AED 150 each; see our tyre replacement service for how that visit works.
Price per sensor
Each sensor starts at AED 150 including the sensor, programming, new valve seal and relearn. The tyre removal, refit and balancing needed to reach the sensor are part of the job. If sensors are replaced during a tyre fitting visit, the sensor work is simply added to the same visit.
Electric cars, including the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y, use direct TPMS sensors and need the correct Bluetooth or radio type. Tell us the model year when you book so the van brings the right sensor.

What UAE drivers say
-
Khalid Al Mansoori MirdifFlat tyre on the Patrol at 11 pm outside the house. Technician was there in 35 minutes, had the right 20-inch tyre in the van and finished in half an hour. Price was exactly what they told me on WhatsApp.
-
Priya Raman JLTBooked a set of four Michelins for my CR-V. They fitted them in the basement of my building while I was on calls. Showed me the manufacture date on each tyre before fitting, which nobody has ever done for me.
-
Mark Dela Cruz Al Nahda, SharjahScrew in my tyre on a Friday morning. They plugged it in the car park, checked the other three and set the pressures. AED 80, done in 20 minutes.
-
Sarah Whitfield Arabian RanchesPaid with Tabby for new tyres on the Range Rover — split into four, no interest. The guy was careful with the wheels and left the driveway cleaner than he found it.
Common questions
Common questions
How much does a TPMS sensor cost in the UAE?
Our price starts at AED 150 per sensor, including programming and fitting. Original manufacturer sensors cost more and are quoted per model.
Can I drive with a faulty TPMS sensor?
The car will drive, but you lose the warning for a real puncture on that wheel. Check that tyre's pressure manually until the sensor is replaced.
Can you replace just one TPMS sensor?
Yes. We test all four, replace only the faulty one and relearn it to the car. Replacing all four makes sense only when the others are the same age.
Will an aftermarket sensor work on my car?
Programmable aftermarket sensors are set up to your car's specific protocol and behave like the original. We confirm compatibility from your model and year before the visit.
Does the TPMS light reset by itself after a new sensor?
Not always. Most cars need a relearn procedure with a TPMS tool or a set driving routine, which the technician completes before leaving.
Flat tyre? A technician can be on the way in minutes.
Send your location and a photo of the tyre sidewall. We'll confirm the price and arrival time straight away — 24 hours a day.
