The short answer
Electric cars wear tyres 20–30% faster than similar petrol cars because of their weight and instant torque. EV-specific tyres — such as Michelin Pilot Sport EV, Pirelli P Zero Elect, Hankook iON or Continental EcoContact 6 with foam — add load capacity, low rolling resistance for range, and noise foam. A Tesla Model Y tyre costs about AED 550–1,000 fitted.
Why EVs eat tyres
A Tesla Model Y weighs around 2 tonnes and delivers full torque instantly. Combine that with hot Dubai asphalt and tyres can be done by 25,000–35,000 km. Rotating every 10,000 km and keeping pressures at the higher EV placard values helps a lot.
Lifting EVs safely
EV batteries run the length of the floor. Jacking in the wrong place can crack the battery casing. Our technicians use the manufacturer's lift points with rubber jack pads, and Tesla-specific pucks.
TPMS on EVs
Teslas need TPMS sensors relearned after rotation or replacement; we do this on site.
