The short answer
Most sedans in the UAE run 16–18 inch tyres — 205/55 R16 on a Corolla, 215/55 R17 on a Camry or Altima, 235/45 R18 on sportier trims. A good touring tyre with an H or V speed rating and a cold pressure of 33–36 psi suits UAE highways. Expect AED 250–450 per tyre fitted for a quality mid-range set.
What sedans need from a tyre in the UAE
A sedan in Dubai typically covers 20,000–30,000 km a year, much of it at a steady 100–120 km/h on Sheikh Zayed Road, Emirates Road or the E11 to Abu Dhabi. That means the priorities are tread life, low noise and stable heat behaviour, rather than outright grip. Touring tyres such as the Michelin Primacy 4+, Hankook Ventus Prime 4 or Bridgestone Turanza T005 are built for exactly this.
Common sedan tyre sizes
| Car | Typical size | Pressure (cold) |
|---|---|---|
| Nissan Sunny / Toyota Yaris sedan | 185/65 R15 | 32–33 psi |
| Toyota Corolla | 205/55 R16 · 225/45 R17 | 33–35 psi |
| Toyota Camry | 215/55 R17 · 235/45 R18 | 35 psi |
| Nissan Altima | 215/55 R17 · 235/40 R19 | 33–36 psi |
| Honda Accord | 225/50 R17 · 235/40 R19 | 33–35 psi |
| Hyundai Elantra | 205/55 R16 · 225/45 R17 | 33–35 psi |
Always confirm the size printed on your own tyre or the door placard — trims of the same model often use different rims.
Choosing between economy, mid-range and premium
For a small sedan driven in town, an economy tyre is acceptable. If you commute between emirates, step up to a mid-range Korean or Japanese tyre: the extra AED 60–100 per tyre buys noticeably shorter wet braking and usually longer life. Premium tyres make the most sense on larger sedans with 2.5L+ engines and on company cars that rack up high mileage.
Looking after sedan tyres
Rotate front to rear every 10,000 km — front tyres on front-wheel-drive sedans wear faster. Check pressures every two weeks in summer, and align the wheels after any hard hit on a speed bump or kerb.
