Why bring the tyre shop to Mussafah

Mussafah is Abu Dhabi's workshop district. Walk down any street in M13 or M14 and you will pass several tyre shops, so finding one is never the problem. The problem is time: driving in, waiting for a bay, haggling over a price that was never written down, and then waiting again while the shop sends someone to fetch your size from a warehouse two streets away.

Most of our Mussafah customers already work there. They run a fleet of Hilux and Navara pickups out of a yard, manage a warehouse in ICAD, or drive a Camry or Sunny to an office in the industrial sectors. For them, a van that pulls into the yard and changes tyres while they carry on working beats any shop counter.

Pickups, vans and small fleets

Commercial vehicles in Mussafah carry heavy loads in serious heat, and that changes which tyre is right. A Hilux or Navara running loaded all day needs a light-truck tyre with the correct load index, usually marked LT or with a C suffix such as 195R15C. A passenger tyre in the same size will fit the rim but will not carry the weight safely. We check the load and speed markings on your existing tyres and match or exceed them.

For fleets, we can do several vehicles in one visit at the same AED 100 fitting price per vehicle, and send one invoice. Many fleet managers book us on a Friday morning or after the last shift, when the vehicles are parked; we work 24 hours, so the timing is yours.

All prices are per tyre, fitted and balanced. The AED 100 fitting fee covers the visit for up to four tyres on one car.

What we check while we are there

Industrial streets are hard on tyres. Loose metal, screws and swarf from workshops end up in the tread, and broken kerbs chew up sidewalls. When we fit new tyres, the technician also looks at:

• The spare, which on pickups is often slung under the bed, never checked and well past five years old.
• Embedded screws in the other tyres that have not yet caused a leak. A plug now costs AED 80; a blowout costs a tyre and possibly more.
• Uneven wear on the inner edge, a sign the alignment is out. Alignment is done at a partner workshop from AED 99 for a sedan or AED 149 for an SUV.
• Pressures, set cold to the door placard and adjusted for load on commercial vehicles.

Paying for fleet and private jobs

Private customers pay after the job by card, cash, Tabby or Tamara. Fleet customers get an itemised invoice per vehicle with tyre size, brand, DOT date and price, which makes it easier to track tyre age across a fleet. Old tyres are taken away and sent for recycling, which also saves you from piling them up in the yard.

Timing a visit around a working day

Mussafah runs on shifts, and the best time for a tyre job is when the vehicle would be parked anyway. For office staff that is mid-morning, once the car is in its bay. For pickups and vans that go out to sites, it is usually before the first trip or after the last return, including late at night. Because fitting costs the same at any hour, there is no reason to take a vehicle off the road during a busy shift. Send the plate number and bay location along with the tyre size, and the technician can start without the driver present, as long as someone can hand over the key.
